- Can MaxTT be used in all types of tyres?
Yes. The treatment can be used in tyres for a wide range of vehicles – from cars to trucks and earth moving equipment. It can also be used in bicycle and gardening equipment tyres as well
- Can MaxTT be used in tyres with tubes?
Totally! However due to the tubing, tubed tyres do not come with a SmarTTyres ltyre life guarantee
- Does MaxTT provide a secure repair?
Yes, it does. It provides a permanent seal in the tread that that is guaranteed up to 6mm in 4 – 8 ply tyres, and 12mm for 10 + ply tyres
- Will MaxTT seal sidewall punctures?
No.It is unsafe to mask sidewall damage as this could compromise the integrity of the tyre
- Will MaxTT last as long as the tyre?
Yes, and we offer a guarantee that covers the legal life of your tyre’s tread.
- Will MaxTT rust or corrode rims?
Absolutely not.MaxTT has an inbuilt rust inhibitor to help prevent corrosion
- Does MaxTT freeze in cold climates?
No. MaxTT is designed to withstand temperatures ranging from -40oc to 120oc
- Does MaxTT extend tyre life?
Yes! MaxTT extends tread life by an average of 25%
- Why do I need TPMS? I check my pressures every day.
All of the studies show that if you can keep your pressures within 3% of the set pressure you will have improved safety mileage and tyre wear. Our tyre monitoring system constantly gives you accurate readings of the pressure in each tyre. Most of the air gauges used to check tyre pressure are out by more than 5 per cent. Our system will also warn you of a slow leak or high tyre temperature when you are driving.
- Will the TPMS sensors affect wheel balance?
Rest assured, they won't. The internal sensors are intended to be installed by a fully trained SmarTTyres technician, who will balance your wheels upon install. The external sensors attach to the valve stem and look just like a large valve cap
- Once installed what type of maintenance do I have to perform?
There is no maintenance. However, the batteries in the sensor need replacing approximately every three years, and this can be done by a trained SmarTTyres technician with minimal fuss
- Will heat, cold or water affect the sensor?
No.
- Will TPMS or MaxTT treatments void tyre warranties?
No. MaxTT is an environmentally friendly, non-harmful sealant, that will not damage the tyres in any way. TPMS is also non-harmful to your tyres
- How does it seal a hole in the tread of the tyre?
MAXTT lays down a thin protective coating between the tyre and the air within the tyre. When an object penetrates the tread area the air pressure within the tyre forces the sealant into the puncture wound.
- How does it prevent rim/bead leaks?
The air pressure within the tyre forces the sealant towards any weak point. As MAXTT travels ahead of the air, it locates and seals any potential leakage area thus ensuring no loss of air pressure.
- Must a tyre be run after a penetrating object has been removed?
Yes. Although MAXTT has covered the area left by the cavity, it has not entered it; therefore the tyre must be run in order to snap open the cavity and allow the MAXTT to enter. Once again, the vehicle must be driven after removal of the object.
- Does MAXTT react chemically with the tyre?
No. MAXTT is chemically inert - not an adhesive
- Is MAXTT affected by extreme temperatures?
No. MAXTT is more resistant to temperature extremes than the tyre itself
- Is MAXTT water dispersible?
Yes. MAXTT is readily water dispersible.
- Will MAXTT rust the rim of the tyre?
No. MAXTT contains anticorrosive agents to prevent corrosion from occurring. It will also help to inhibit any corrosion on the wheel prior to installation.
- Will MAXTT seal a puncture in the sidewalls of a tyre?
No. It may seal the puncture, but due to the flexing in the sidewalls a temporary plug would be a safety factor only.
- Will MAXTT create a hard plug in the tyre?
No. The plug is designed to be flexible because the tyre flexes. If the plug is hard and does not flex with the tyre, leakage will eventually occur.
- Will MAXT dry out in the tyre?
No. Because the tyre is a closed container, no evaporation of the liquid can occur and it will remain in the same condition it was in when it was inserted into the tyre.
- Can MAXTT plug up the tyre valve stem while it is being installed?
Yes. (This is usually caused by pumping too fast). Should this happen, remove the pump connection and allow a short blast of air to clear the plug, or use a thin wire inserted down the valve stem
- Can I pump against a truck tyre pressure of 100lbs with the hand pump?
Yes, but only by using the SmarTTyres supplied pump. It is strongly recommended to lower pressure to 60-70psi to make it safe.
- How much MAXTT is ejected with a full stroke of
the pump?2,4 litre containers pump 30ml per pump, then there is a 100 ml hand pump and a 250 ml hand pump to fit 20 litre containers
- Can MAXTT be used in a tubed tyre?
Yes; however we are unable to guarantee its success due to the unknown quality and condition of the tube.
- What is the difference between MAXTT and other sealants?
MAXTT is the only tyre treatment specifically designed to combat Global Warming. Additionally the sealant properties are unique. It is, we believe, the safest and best product of its type on the market. Furthermore, when properly installed it will not affect wheel balance or rubber properties, and will give maximum protection to your tyres, your family, your wallet, our environment and our future.
- Is MAXTT recyclable?
Yes. Fully. MAXTT is a 3600 Alliance product.
- What is the difference between MAXTT and other products sold in aerosol cans?
Many of these products are designed to ‘repair’ the tyre after the puncture has occurred and are usually a temporary 'get you home' measure. MAXTT is installed in the tyre before the event so punctures do not occur.
- Is MAXTT flammable?
No.
- Is MAXTT toxic?
No. The Glycol is a more expensive food grade product and none of the other compounds are considered toxic at these levels.
- Does MAXTT affect the manufacturer’s warranty?
No. As it does not react with the rubber components it cannot affect the warranty.
- What is the effect of MAXTT on tyres?
MAXTT maintains air pressure, prevents punctures and blow outs, overheating, and porosity leaks as well as cooling and extending the life of the tyre
- What occurs in a tyre when MAXTT is installed?
The tyre is sealed to prevent any future air loss
- Can MAXTT be installed in used tyres?
Yes.
- What type of tyres can MAXTT be used on?
You can use MAXTT on any pneumatic tyre (It works best on tubeless tyres.)
- What quantities of MAXTT are applied to different types of tyres?
Consult the Dosage Application Rates in the DIY section of the website, and if you have any queries, please consult with SmarTTyres Ltd
- What is the size of the container the product is supplied in?
MAXTT comes in 1, 2, 4, 20, and 1,000 litre containers
- How long is shelf life?
Stored in containers with sealed caps, away from direct sunlight, and in temperatures not exceeding 25-300C it will last indefinitely. If sealant is not being used for 1-2 weeks or longer, pumps should be taken out; container caps sealed and pumps flushed and washed with clean water. Periodically check pumps for correct volume (100mls/stroke). All equipment should be kept clean – especially pump nozzles so grit does not enter valve stem causing blockages. Pumps should be serviced and cleaned regularly. If pump becomes hard to lift and pull, unscrew pump and clean piston, use rubber grease to lubricate
